I'm a big fan of hearts of palm. I love to add them to salads. I typically buy them at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's and add them to a salad or eat them by themselves. But those do not match the taste and texture of these delicious morsels. They just have a certain crunch and flavor that is subtle, yet superior to just plain hearts of palm.Recommended...

Pickled hearts of palm is tastier than many other pickles in the first place, but this one has a bit (1 gram) of sugar which softens the vinegar taste and making it slightly better tasting than other hearts of palm (to me, anyway). I actually did not think this small amount of sugar makes any difference, but it does.It is good with any salad or as a side dish by itself. I mostly just eat as a snack. Unfortunately it is like potato chips and you can't just eat one.

Always something to do

These are delicious! It’s like a water chestnut and a bamboo shoot combined together and in addition to their inherent crispness, gained a slight creaminess… it’s very unique! They are a little pricey but if you want to add a surprising flair to your recipes this is a one of a kind Ingredient.Would recommend.

I don't recall ever having hearts of palm before, but they're good! The flavor is reminiscent of artichoke hearts, but without the sometimes unpleasant texture of things like leaves or choke attached to the hearts. The flavor is relatively mild like those. The second time having this, I started thinking about how it separates a little like string cheese, with the ability to pull pieces off. As someone allergic to dairy, this adds a little more fun to eating it. I ate one jar plain and used the other jar to make fake mozzarella sticks.Plain or cooked, they're a really good and fun snack!
